Data Controller
Kıyıkent Eğitim ve Kültür Vakfı (Kıyıkent Üniversitesi) ("Kıyıkent Üniversitesi") processes your personal data as the data controller within the framework described in this notice, in accordance with Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data ("KVKK"). Categories of Personal Data
- Identity and contact data, prospective student preference and education data, student affairs records, health report and disability data (special-category), campus security camera footage, website usage and cookie data.
Purposes of Processing
- Managing prospective student applications, carrying out registration and teaching activities, scholarship and fee procedures, notifications to YÖK and ÖSYM, campus security, employment and academic staff processes, communication and information.
Legal Grounds
Your personal data is processed under Articles 5 and 6 of the KVKK on the grounds of establishing or performing a contract, complying with a legal obligation, legitimate interest and, where required, your explicit consent.
Transfers and Retention
Your data may be shared only to the extent required by the purpose with authorised public bodies and with the IT, payment and communication infrastructure providers we use; transfers abroad are made only in line with Article 9 of the KVKK. Data is kept for the period set out in the relevant legislation or, where none is stated, for as long as the purpose requires, and is then deleted, destroyed or anonymised.
Student and staff data is retained for the statutory periods under Law No. 2547 and related regulations; diploma and transcript records are archived indefinitely after graduation.
Your Rights
Under Article 11 of the KVKK you may ask whether your data is processed, request information, ask for correction or deletion, learn which third parties receive it and object to its processing. Send your written request to kvkk@kiyikent.edu.tr; we reply within 30 days at the latest.
