Final registration steps after ÖSYM placement, required documents and common mistakes.
After ÖSYM announces placement results, the first step awaiting successful candidates is final registration. Kıyıkent University offers two options, online and on campus, so that you can complete registration quickly and without trouble. In this article we gather the steps of the process and the points to watch.
How is final registration done?
Placed candidates can register online between the dates announced by the Student Affairs Directorate during the registration period, or come to the Registration Centre on campus. Registration dates depend on the periods announced by ÖSYM; registrations made outside the period are invalid.
Documents usually required
- Placement result document (printout of the ÖSYM result page)
- High school diploma or provisional graduation certificate (which may be verified via e-Devlet)
- Identity card
- Biometric photograph (uploaded in digital registration)
- For health programmes (Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing) a health report
- Documents for scholarship or discount entitlement (such as a sibling certificate or sports achievement certificate)
The current and binding list is in the ÖSYM Higher Education Guide and in the Student Affairs announcement.
Fees and payment
Candidates placed in the fee-paying quota pay the first instalment or the upfront payment at final registration. Scholarship students pay only extra items such as the registration fee and dormitory fee. You can see the amount in advance with the scholarship and fee calculator.
What happens after registration?
When registration is complete you are assigned a student information system account, a university email address and an academic adviser. In English-taught programmes an English proficiency exam is held in the first weeks; those who do not reach the required score are directed to the preparatory class. Orientation week includes a campus tour, club presentations and meetings with advisers.
Common mistakes
- Leaving it to the last day of the registration period; system load can disrupt the process.
- Arriving with an incomplete health report; registration cannot be completed in health programmes.
- Skipping the dormitory application; quotas are limited and priority goes to early applicants and full-scholarship students.
You can fill in the prospective student form or call Student Affairs with your questions.
International and transfer students
International students register through the International Office with an acceptance letter, passport, equivalence certificate and residence permit appointment. Students arriving through transfer bring a transcript, course contents and the adaptation form; the adaptation committee decides which courses are counted.
Orientation week
The first week after registration consists of faculty presentations, library training, a health screening, a club introduction day and meetings with academic advisers. Attendance at the orientation programme is compulsory for all new students.
For help
During the registration period the Student Affairs phone and WhatsApp line is open weekdays 08:30 – 17:30. Our prospective student advisers answer questions on documents, scholarships and dormitories the same day; for candidates who cannot come to campus, registration guidance by video call is also provided.
